<br />
<div>
<b>Ingredients</b><br />
Butter (softened) - 120 Grams.<br />
caster Sugar - 3/4 Cup</div>
<div>
Eggs - 2</div>
<div>
All Purpose flour - 1 cup</div>
<div>
Baking Powder - 1/2 teaspoon</div>
<div>
Vanilla Essence - 1 teaspoon</div>
<div>
Milk - 5 Tablespoons<br />
Red food colour - as per require</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<strong>Procedure</strong></div>
<div>
First of all Preheat oven at 180 degree centigrade. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Now take a Big Bowl and Beat butter and sugar till it gets fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and beat it. It should become very fluffy. You can use hand mixer or a blender for this. Now at another side mix vanilla and milk. Sift APF and Baking Powder. Add vanilla and milk and beat it for a minute. Now add flour and mix it properly. No lumps should form. Your batter is ready now. </div>
<div>
For the heart shape, pour approximately 1½ cups of the batter into a smaller bowl. Keep remaining batter in airtight container. Now add 3-4 drops of red colour and mix it. Repeat this till you get the perfect colour of heart. Make sure it is slightly darker because after baking the colour get reduced. Now pour it in greased baking pan and bake for 15 minutes. Check if the cake is done with knife edge. Allow the cake to cool completely. Place the cake on one tray. And make little heart shape with small heart-shaped cookie cutter. You can draw and cut with knife too. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Now arrange paper cups in a tray. Mark with some pen on each paper cup so that after baking we will remember the correct heart position. Pour 2 tablespoon of remaining batter in each cup. (approx. 12 cupcakes you will get from this measure.) Place heart in it according to the mark on paper cup. (front of the heart<span class="MsoCommentReference"> </span>facing the mark on the paper cup ). Now cover it with a teaspoon of batter. Do it very gently. Bake it in oven for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and allow it to cool for 10 mins.</div>
<div>
I didn't get time to decorate it. But please decorate it nicely. And While serving let your sweetheart know from which portion he has to take a bite of cake. So that you can open your heart in front of him. <br />

should get golden colour with nice aroma.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>You have to take precaution while doing it. Dal should not stick to
the bottom, so it should be on low flame only. Now remove it from burner. </div>

In a nonstick
pan take sugar and water to make a syrup. Boil it till you get 2 strands
consistency (2tari pak in Marathi). You can easily make out two strings when
you take a little drop of syrup in your two finger's tip (pressing and then
separating from each other). Syrup is ready.</div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">

<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
</div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
Now add milk,
saffron and cardamom powder to it and mix wel.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Then add roasted chana dal paste in it. And mix it neatly till bottom.
Cover it and keep aside for 2 hours so that dal will absorbs all the syrup. </div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/khaugiri/vatalidalladoo2_zps6dd9db2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/khaugiri/vatalidalladoo2_zps6dd9db2a.jpg" /></a></div>

</div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
Then Make
Ladoos<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>of any size you want. I made

Hi All, I'm posting something on Khaugiri after almost six months. the reason behind that is very cute, now we have one lil member in our family........<strong><span style="color: magenta;">'Sara'</span></strong>, my angel. I am enjoying motherhood. But really I missed u all a lot. so thought to start with kid's favorite recipe. Though she doesn't eat anything, this one is only for her. I have bookmarked this recipe long back from Tarlaji's site. Prepared this on new year's party. And was a hit in the party. It's not time consuming and easiest recipe I have ever posted in Khaugiri. But nobody will understand how you made these edible boats.<br />
<br />

Cut Oranges into half. While cutting it, cut it vertically so that you will get whole wedges of Oranges. (Not like what we cut to make a juice). Remove wedges. Do it carefully so that skin will not get any hole. You can make juice from those wedges of Oranges. Put jelly crystals in a pan. Add water as specified in the packets. Mix well. Boil it. Now keep it till it becomes warm. Keep all orange halves in separate bowl or you can use muffin tray to keep them steady. </div>

<strong>For Dal</strong></div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
Soak all dal for an

chilli and ginger. Now heat a kadai<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>and
put ghee into it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Then add cumin seeds and
asafetida. After that add<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>turmeric
powder and coriander powder.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Now add
tomato paste and sauté it neatly.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Then
add red chilli powder and salt. Mix it neatly. Sauté it for 2 minutes.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Now add cooked daal.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Add water as per require for desired

make small balls of the dough. Press each ball slightly and press with a finger
in the centre. So that bati will get cooked properly from inside in oven.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Arrange baatis in oven tray. Brush it with

Vade
sguti or Komdi vade is a staple dish of Malvan. Malvan is a town located in
Sindhudurg District - southernmost district of Maharashtra. This is a coastal
area. By name you must have thought that it must be some snacks or type of
crispy Vada. But here Vada is multigrain<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>puris. We had our Potluck party on last weekend, so my friend <strong>Vaishali</strong>
made vade and <a href="http://khaugiri.blogspot.in/2009/03/sol-kadhi.html" target="_blank"><strong>solkadhi</strong></a>, and <strong>Manasi</strong> made special <a href="http://khaugiri.blogspot.in/2009/07/malwani-chicken.html" target="_blank"><strong>Malvani Chicken</strong></a> curry. I
prepared 'kaju curry' for vegetarian people. Vade is a must try dish and
vegetarian can also eat it with <a href="http://khaugiri.blogspot.in/2012/01/kaju-curry.html" target="_blank"><strong>kaju curry</strong></a> or any other <a href="http://khaugiri.blogspot.in/search/label/Usal" target="_blank">sprout curry</a>.</div>

'Aamrakhand' means
Amra(mango)+ Shrikhand. Shikhand with mango puree into it is called
aamrakand.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In most of the Maharashtrian
family this sweet dish is prepared during Mango season. You can have this with
Puri, it tastes awesome. Instead of <a href="http://khaugiri.blogspot.in/2009/06/aamras-puri-with-kurdai-for-vata.html" target="_blank">Aamras-Puri</a> or <a href="http://khaugiri.blogspot.in/2009/03/shrikhand.html" target="_blank">Shrikhand-Puri</a>, we can
combine both. We have one function at my Aatya's place so we (Usha Aunty,
Shashi aaka, swati & myself) prepared almost 7-8 Kg. Aamrakhand. Oh it was
really huge.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Now for coming <a href="http://khaugiri.blogspot.in/2009/07/sabudana-khichadi-for-mahaekadashi.html" target="_blank">'AashadhiEkadashi'</a> you must prepare this sweet.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/khaugiri/aamrakhand.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/khaugiri/aamrakhand.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
<strong><span style="color: orange;">Ingredients</span></strong></div>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
Hung Curd(Chakka) -
250 Gms.</div>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
Powder Sugar - 200
Gms.</div>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
Mango puree- 1 cup</div>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
Warm milk -4-5
tablespoon</div>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
Nutmeg powder -
1/8th teaspoon</div>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
Chopped almond and
charoli for garnishing (Optional). </div>

<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">
<span style="color: orange;"><strong>Procedure</strong></span></div>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Calibri; margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: 11pt;">Most
of the cities we don't get hung curd, so the simple way to prepare hung curd
is- </span><span style="color: #373636; font-size: 10.5pt;">Take full cream milk's
curd in thin cotton cloth. Squeeze it with hand and remove the water. Tie it
tightly and hang it over night so all water in curd will drain out.</span></div>
<br />
<div style="color: #373636; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 10.5pt; margin: 0in;">
Now
take the hung curd (in Marathi we call it as Chakka) in a big bowl. Add
Powdered sugar and mix it neatly. Now add warm milk and beat it for 2 minutes.
Then add mango puree mix it very nicely. You can adjust quantity of sugar
according to the sweetness of mango. Add nutmeg powder and mix it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If you want you can add chopped nuts or
Charoli. But I usually like it without any nuts. Chill it in fridge and serve
it with hot Puris.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; margin: 0in;">

An authentic recipe
specially in Mango season. 'Gulamba' means Gul is Jaggery and Amba is mango.
It's a Jam of raw mango. My Aai makes it every year for me. But this year I
tried Gulamba for the first time (offcourse under her guidance) and look it is looking just yummmmmm:-) This
can be prepared with Sugar (it's called 'Sakharamba') but I specially like with
Jaggery.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>So a must try recipe…tastes
good with bread slice or Roti or any Paratha or Thepla. My<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>grandfather used to eat this with a dollop of
pure ghee on it.<br />

<strong><span style="color: orange;"><br />Procedure</span></strong></div>

Peel raw Mangoes. (Mangoes should be big in size)<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Grate it neatly.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"></span>Now shift it <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"></span>in a heavy bottom vessel. Add jaggery into it. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"></span>Quantity of jaggery depends upon the sourness of a mango. Mix it well and keep aside for one hour.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"></span>After one hour jaggery will completely get dissolved. Put this vessel on medium flame. Cook it till this syrup gets thicker(one string consistancy).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"></span>But have to stir in between. Now turn off the flame. Now add cardamom powder and mix well. Gulamba is ready. Cool it and store it in a glass jar.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"></span>You can store it for 5-6 months in fridge. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
OMG!!!! I did it. From last 2 years I wanted to make this dish. When I first time saw this recipe in <a href="http://sindhirasoi.com/2008/10/31/dal-pakwan-the-most-famous-sindhi-breakfast/" target="_blank">Alka's Blog</a>. But some or other thing took me away from trying this recipe. Thanks a lot <a href="http://sindhirasoi.com/2008/10/31/dal-pakwan-the-most-famous-sindhi-breakfast/" target="_blank">Alka</a> it was really yummy and now it will be in our regular weekend menu list. Dal Pakwan is a traditional Sindhi breakfast recipe. Though it is full of calories but some time you can try out this yaar. The only thing I did to reduce my guilt is I used half a quantity Maida and half wheat flour;-)</div>

It was fun.), I got delayed in posting this lovely recipe. It's a typical sweet dish of Karnataka. Me & my father love this like anything. There are two varieties steamed Kadabu ( kucchida kadabu) & fried Kadabu. Whenever I see this dish, I totally forget about my so called Diet Plans ;-)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/khaugiri/kadabu-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" kca="true" src="http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/khaugiri/kadabu-2.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><strong><span style="color: orange;">Ingredients</span></strong></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><strong>For stuffing (HURNA)</strong></div><br />
<br />
Chana Daal - 500 Gms<br />
<br />
Sugar - 500 Gms<br />
<br />
Cardamom Powder - 1 table spoon<br />
<br />
Nutmeg powder (jayphal pud) - 1 Tea spoon<br />
<br />
Salt - 1 Pinch<br />
<br />
<br />
<strong>For Cover</strong><br />
<br />
Whole wheat Flour - 1 cups.<br />
<br />
Fine semolina - 1/2 cup<br />
<br />
Hot Oil -3-4 teaspoon<br />
<br />
Salt - 1/8 tea spoon<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Oil for deep fry.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<strong><span style="color: orange;">Procedure</span></strong><br />
<br />
Wash chana daal neatly. Pressure cook it with water upto 3-4 whistles. Let the pressure of cooker get release. Drain the water on top of the dal into another vessel. It is called 'kat' in Marathi . It is used in a "Katachi aamti", It is a special daal which served with Puran Poli. . Now take daal in a thick bottom pan and add sugar into it. Stir continuously on low flame. <br />
<br />
When the spatula stands straight in it, take of from the flame. Now grind this very finely in Puran yantra or siever as shown below. This is a very easy method to make the stuffing smooth. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/khaugiri/kadabu-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" kca="true" src="http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/khaugiri/kadabu-3.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Now add Cardamom Powder and Nutmeg powder and mix wel. When you started cooking daal, mean while knead the flour for the cover with given ingredients. The dough should be hard. Keep it aside. When the stuffing (HURNA) cool down shift it to a bowl. Make small lemon size ball of dough. Roll it like puri. Place 2-3 teaspoons of stuffing at the center of the Puri. Now fold the puri and close the edges so that it will get half circle shape. Tightly seal the edges.(otherwise stuffing will come out while frying) You can twist edges as shown in pictures to close it properly and it also looks nice. Make all kadabus with same procedure. Cover it with damp cloth. Deep fry it on a low flame till it becomes slightly brown. Serve with hot ghee on top.</div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><br />

Whenever I ate some different thing at my friend's place I used to try it in my kitchen. This sandwich is one of that recipes. Once I had this at my school friend, Darshu's house. That time she was not having sandwich maker at her place, so she used to press it with small 'dabba'(container). And really that tastes awesome. I really loved it. When I tried it at home my father likes it very much. The thing is he likes any toast with 'lots' of butter. Now even my husband likes it very much. It's a really very heavy breakfast dish.<a href="http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/khaugiri/sandwich1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" rba="true" src="http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/khaugiri/sandwich1.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<strong><span style="color: orange;">Ingredients</span></strong><br />
Bread- 8 slices<br />
<br />
Butter - 2 tablespoon<br />
<br />
Finely chopped onion - 2<br />
<br />
Finely chopped tomato -1<br />
<br />
Finely chopped coriander - 2 tablespoons<br />
<br />
Red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon<br />
<br />
Sugar - a pich<br />
<br />
Salt - as per taste<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/khaugiri/sandwich2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" rba="true" src="http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/khaugiri/sandwich2.jpg" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<strong><span style="color: orange;">Procedure</span></strong><br />
Heat a tawa (girdle) . Now in a bowl mix all ingredients except bread and butter. Take two slices of bread. Spread spoonful mixture on one slice and cover it with another. Put some butter on tawa and keep this sandwich on it. To make a properly grilled sandwich put one small plate on sandwich and press it with any container or a smasher. (this is what darshu taught me and it works) When it becomes crispy from one side, repeat it for next side. Really crispy sandwiches are ready. And I am sure you will not get this taste on sandwich maker;-) <br />
